if the shoe fits, burn it
SPX kicked ass. I came back with a slight hangover, a suspicion confirmed, and a slew of mini-comics that I can't stop re-reading. I'll post some pretty pages if I have time, for alas, it's back to the keys for me.
Continuing last week's theme of music I'd have never heard if not for (X), here's Submerge, a long broken-up band from Richmond, VA. Mandy turned me on to their album East, Meet West a few years ago, and it's as good now as it was then. The drummer and bassist, if I remember correctly, have since moved on to fame with Motion City Soundtrack. If you dig the latter you'll dig Submerge. Also, have some Daft Punk. You already like this song.

Submerge - If the Shoe Fits
Submerge - The Man Who Tricked Fate

I have no idea where to get the Submerge stuff. Ask Richmond.
And thanks to Matt at Merchants of Soul for the link.
Ohhh yes. Submerge: the mighty, mighty indie-pop gods of mid-90s Richmond. Never gets old. It's so nice to see them getting some credit around here.
